The sacrifice is never the main point. Giving thanks is. But if so, then why do we rush through it?

Parshat Terumah teaches that the materials themselves are not the problem—the difference between the Golden Calf and the Mishkan was not the gold, but whether it was used according to God’s command, reminding us that holiness depends on our choices.

Our salvation—the only way to save ourselves—is to come back to who we are. We have to know why we are in Israel, we have to uphold that reason and be proud of it.
